Mission: to prepare and empower people who are blind or visually impaired to be self-sufficient and contribute to their families and communities. ABVI-Goodwill provides a full range of programs, services, job opportunities, and career training for people who are blind or visually impaired in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes areas.

  • adaptive computer technology (especially Apple devices)
  • clothing and household items (gently-used) for our Goodwill retail locations
  • funds to help underwrite the cost of client transportation
  • funds to sustain one of our support groups for individuals coping with blindness or visual impairment

Volunteers Needed:
  • Drivers to transport people to and from medical appointments.
  • Shoppers to provide personal grocery shopping services.
  • Readers to provide weekly or bi-weekly personal reading services.
  • Assist with short-term office/clerical projects (seasonal).
  • Help at one-day events such as Scouting for Food and Clothing Drive and the Annual Celebration fundraising event.
  • Adults to assist at monthly recreation events.
  • Assistance with vision screenings for children ages 1 to 5.

    Flexible schedules, and long- and short-term opportunities are available.
