Arc of Genesee Orleans provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that reside in Genesee and Orleans County.  Programs include residential, service coordination, day habilitation, transportation, employment training and placement and recreation and respite services.  The agency operates a preschool program serving children under five years old, called Rainbow Preschool.  In addition, business services that support employment for those with a disability include the Trash and Recycling facility, Snack Shop in the Arnold Gregory Complex, Food for Thought Cafe in the Richmond Library, 2 Work Center operations, 2 Meals on Wheels programs, janitorial services and community employment placements.

Wish List:
  • equipment for kitchen needs (major): food processors, large pots and pans
  • folding tables and folding chairs
  • gift baskets ($25 value or more) for fundraisers (June/July event,
  • September and November events)
  • gift cards: Walmart, Target to buy children’s arts & crafts supplies
  • industrial size scales to weigh products (large)
  • monetary donation/gift card to support Meals on Wheels program for seniors in Genesee and Orleans County
  • PS 2 gaming equipment and games
  • shredder, industrial size
    games for outside
  • PPE supplies


Volunteers Needed:
  • Assist with agency events such as Golf Tournaments (2), Friends and Family 5K, and Chili & Chowder Fest and Basket Raffle.

For TEENS or groups of Teens:

  • At The Friends and Families 5K in Elba, NY: volunteer in the children's area, and cheer on participants along the 5K route.
