The Greece Historical Society is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, chartered in 1975 by the Board of Regents. Our purpose is to collect, research, and preserve the history of the town of Greece, NY and the local area. Our all-volunteer Society owns and maintains our historical Center/Museum at 595 Long Pond Rd. with fundraisers, membership dues, sales in our museum gift shop and donations. Museum is open Sundays 1:30 pm to 4 pm or by appointment. Office hours are Monday and Tuesday 9:30 am to noon. Monthly programs on the second Tuesday of the month.

Wish List

  • memorabilia (dated and identified), to include historic artifacts and photographs relevant to the Town of Greece
  • paper for copier and printer, file folders
  • storage boxes, acid-free, for archival materials (various sizes)

Volunteers Needed

  • Help with general outdoor building maintenance and gardening.
  • Gift shop cashier/volunteers Sunday afternoons.
  • Museum docents Sunday afternoons.
  • Person experienced with computers to organize our collection and membership.
  • Secretarial work, especially filing, and answering the phone on Monday and Tuesday mornings.
  • Video production professional.
  • Individual experienced in the creation of exhibits.
