For the past 16 years, Fostering Hope has provided every child entering foster care in Monroe County with a backpack packed with age-appropriate toiletries, a stuffed animal, book, journals, notebook or coloring book and writing utensils that they can call their own. Also more recently, we have provided children entering residential placement through Hillside Family of Agencies something to call their own.
We began as pediatric nurses and nurse practitioners, but we now need to involve the wider community. Please help us to help children in crisis to know that someone cares.
Update September 2020: We are currently also servicing the Crisis Nursery. We are primarily giving supplies to people who are getting babies from Foster Care so we could also use diapers and the plastic changing pads that people carry when they go out.
