We are a soup kitchen that provides nutritious midday meals and caring friendship to needy people in a safe environment. We operate every Wednesday and Sunday at Christ Church in downtown Rochester.
food items: canned kidney beans, tomato sauce, pasta (penne and ziti), dried beans (garbanzo beans, white beans, green and yellow split peas, brown and green lentils), rice, egg noodles, chicken and beef stock (32- to 46-ounce cans), crushed or whole Italian tomatoes (28- to 35-ounce cans), salad dressings, BBQ sauce, coffee, 100-percent juices (large-size), cider, large quantities of frozen meats (especially ground beef), boxed stuffing, powdered lemonade mix, ketchup, mustard, mayo, flour, sugar
personal care items (travel-size)
restaurant-grade kitchen appliances and equipment (e.g., convection oven, food processor)
Volunteers Needed: Volunteers are always needed. Make a commitment to serve monthly, annually, or just once. Individuals, family teams, church groups and various outreach groups are welcomed. What a wonderful way to spend a few hours together on a Wednesday or Sunday!
