Dimitri House is an outreach to the poor and homeless in the Rochester community, with an emphasis on the belief that ALL persons deserve dignity and respect, along with food, clothing, and shelter.
Programs include a food cupboard that supports more than 2,900 community members per year; a hot lunch program (5,000 people/year); emergency men's shelter; and The Dimitri Affordable Safe Housing Program, which has placed 40+ formerly homeless people into safe, long-term housing.
In an effort to keep our programs running and our doors open we are in URGENT need of VOLUNTEERS. With only a couple staff, we rely heavily on our community to assist with providing all of our services. Feel like cooking on Tuesdays? Answering phones on Mondays? How about helping out in our shelter this winter? Without the generosity and dedication of volunteers we simply couldn't do what we do. Please consider lending a hand, we sure would appreciate the help! Projects for groups and solo volunteers, seniors, college students and youth groups.
If you or a friend might like to help out this winter, call us at 585-325-1796 or email: Ljprizel@dimitri-house.org
