Rochester Youth for Christ works with a range of youth as young as 5 years old up to the age 21. YFC offers its after-school programming to anyone who lives within the Rochester city limits, regardless of race, gender, or ethnicity.
Services provided:
•  Rising Stars After School Program provides individualized homework help with a focus on personal educational development through creative arts and activities.
•  All-Star Sports provides mentoring and social development through seasonal sports leagues.
•  Successful Pathways empowers at-risk young women to accomplish their educational and vocational goals, specializing in behavior modification in evidence based groups with an 80% retention rate.


Wishlist:
  • baby wipes, diapers, diaper pails, diaper rash cream, lotion, baby powder, baby shampoo, etc.
  • baby toys of all sizes (excluding stuffed animals)
  • strollers, high chairs, playpens (new or used)
  • gift cards: Wegmans, Walmart, BJ's, Hess, etc.
  • household items: microwaves, toaster ovens, lamps, bed sets, etc.
  • laptop computers: good working condition
  • monetary gifts (can be donated online)
  • school supplies for K-to-college students - everything is welcome!
  • sporting equipment (new or used) for basketball
  • toiletries for teen parents: body wash, deodorant, lotion, sanitary napkins, etc.
  • van: minivan or passenger van
  • cleaning supplies: disinfectant wipes, toilet cleaning supplies, paper towels, dust mops
  • first-aid kits
  • office supplies: pens, pencils, paper clips, copy paper, Post-it notes, tape (clear, masking, packing), etc.
  • restroom supplies: toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels
  • snack bar items: candy bars, Gatorade, soda, hot dogs, buns, snack-size chips, etc.
  • paper products: paper plates, napkins, plastic cups, plastic tableware
  • cooking supplies: pots, pans, serving spoons, trays, serving dishes
  • arts and crafts kits and supplies: stickers, glitter glue, glue sticks (all sizes), markers, Sharpies,  scrapbook supplies, crayons, construction paper
  • board games: Life, Monopoly, Sorry, Clue
  • card games: Skipbo, Uno

     

     

Volunteers Needed:
  • Looking for adults to serve as mentors for one year. Mentors need to be at least 21 years old, have a NYS driver license, and a reliable vehicle. Please contact our office for more information.
  • Boutique Manager to organize donations a few hours bi-weekly for our Teen Boutique and Children’s Place.
  • Volunteer to update YFC contact and donor database.
  • Spruce up the building in various ways (one-time volunteer day for groups or individuals).
  • Snack Bar workers for sporting and special events.
  • Clerical: filing, answer phone, calling donors.
  • Coaches for the basketball season.
  • Rising Stars After School Program: help the children with homework, reading, etc.
  • Fundraising event organization.
  • Grant writing.
  • Building renovations.
